Re: Bush to commute Libby sentence
[ QUOTE ]
Isn't what he was trying to hide immaterial, if anything? You know, the 5th? [/ QUOTE ] But he didn't take the 5th amendment. He lied. That's a pretty big difference. One is not incriminating yourself, the other is misleading a prosecutor and obstructing justice. |

No doubt he'll be responding again too so if people keep wanting me to comment so be it. [/ QUOTE ] I want you to comment. There are a lot of points I brought up and questions I asked of you directly that remain unanswered, and I'm curious what your thoughts are on them. |

Re: Bush to commute Libby sentence
A quick update:
Valerie Plame's lawsuit dismissed [ QUOTE ] U.S. District Judge John D. Bates dismissed the case on jurisdictional grounds and said he would not express an opinion on the constitutional arguments. Bates dismissed the case against all defendants... [/ QUOTE ] I can't wait to see how this gets spun by administration loyalists. I'm guessing this will somehow be interpreted as "proof" that Plame wasn't covert. |

[/ QUOTE ] One of the first things a judge is going to do is decide whether or not he has jurisdiction. If he doesn't then it doesn't proceed. Very simple and logical actually. |
