Villain doesn't seem donkish so far(at least comparable to the average player)

I probably just pitch the flop without reads. His range is a set, a huge draw and J7/J4 so any more money you put in past the flop will just be a guessing game.

I thought this looked like the nut flush draw not wanting to commit on the flop.. Aren't people more inclined to just pot it with made hands?

I can't see how you can call on the flop. Your hand is most unlikely to improve, so I see it as you either feel you are way ahead and stick it in now, or fold.

Its possible that villian is on nut flush draw but he also could be protecting himself against you having over pair and flush draw. I would not raise this hand UTG preflop.
