Re: 2/4: Can he really bluff c/minraise the turn?
I am not buying the boat, because he is a 55/12 and they tend to play hands backwards. I do think he has a king or is semi bluffing a draw. So a shove may be the best play.

[ QUOTE ] what kind of 9 could he really have 9 10 or what u have to call and see the river [/ QUOTE ] he's a 55/12 92s is in his range here [/ QUOTE ] I'm never really sure what to do in spots like these. I bet the turn figuring he'd call with his draws and any king, and would only check-raise a hand that beats me, but I'm not sure if this is true vs. a maniac. Anyway, I tanked and folded. Anybody care to guess what he showed? Given the size of the pot if I call, I think he's shoving his entire range on the river unless he was on a complete bluff and rivers a mid-pair or something. I don't really like shoving the turn because it folds out all of his bluffs and only gets called when he has me beat. Do you suppose it would generally be +EV against this player to call the turn and fold to a river diamond and at least call on any other card? |

[/ QUOTE ] The problem is that this type of player is probably shoving the river with either A) the nuts and B) a complete bluff I don't think he's going to check the river after mini checkraisng the turn and if he is bluffing he will want to push you off your hand and do that he's pushing this river with or without the nuts. I think you need to make a decision on the turn to either fold or push. By the one of your post I'm guessing KQ? |

He has a nine 95% of the time. Fold.
Donkeys can't resist making a big show when they have a hand, because they think they are thinking they are smart. |

Re: 2/4: Can he really bluff c/minraise the turn?
I think this is a fold/shove situation. I really don't like seeing the river, as there are far too many hands I'm going to have to fold to a big bet.
I would lean towards fold, a c/minraise indicates a 9 here very often |

[/ QUOTE ] Exactly. So if I shove on the turn I fold out all of his bluffs and get called by all of his strong hands. If he's shoving his entire range on the river, but only calling a shove with his big hands on the turn, then isn't it better to just call a river shove instead of shoving the turn myself? Does the ~18% of the time the river is a diamond really make that much of a difference if we expect him to shove regardless of the river card? [ QUOTE ] By the one of your post I'm guessing KQ? [/ QUOTE ] You got the queen right, but not the K. |
