Laughlin = tourist location? LOL you'll be lucky to find more than 1 NL table in the city, during the weekdays running, at one time. I think I remember seeing a $40 min/max NL game and when I walked by it, everyone had over 300 in front of them. I asked the floor and he said they'd been there all night. That was the only game I found and I literally went into every casino on the strip there except the Ramada. Now if 2-6 spread limit is your game, there is that game everywhere.

I've played in Laughlin a few times. On the weekends there are a lot of Cali tourists in town, and you will find quite a few 1/2 NL games on the weekends. I primarly play at the Riverside, you will find 2-6 being the biggest game during the week, and will usally have no problems finding people who will play with overs.

The room rates are very low down there most of the time unless there is a big event in town. Just check the websites. I had called a few months back about poker rates because my buddies and were going to head down there. Most said no rates, the Belle said 25% off of room rate but 6 hours required per day. The rates were only like 60 bucks a night at the time.

Yes, pretty donkish. I play mostly $5 and $10 STTs, entered a $85 donkament, won it for ~$1000, and made another ~$700 playing cash games. (I'm just above break even in .05-.1 in the limited amount of cash games i've played online.) So donkish? Yes, I'd say so.

In the summer, tourists come from California to play on the river. The NLHE games are pretty good then. I remember one weekend, last summer, when there was over 50k on a 2/5 blind NLHE table at Riverside.

The summer is kind of dead, poker-wise, except for the weekends.

In the winter, snowbirds come down from northwestern states and Canada. They are mostly retirees, and are relatively loose players, although passive.

Locals are mostly seniors, and tight/passive, which is why the 2-6 spread limit has existed for so long, when the rest of the country has done away with it.

The rake at RS is the best, at 3/1. Everywhere else (I believe) is 3/2. Harrah's is the worst at 5/2 and I do not play there.

Rates are pretty easy to get. A lot of places will put you up for about $20 per night (very plain rooms). During the summer you will get flyers under your door or on your bed left by housekeeping offering unbelievable deals like 3 nights for $7.77 (not for each night, but total, lol).

Food comps are easy, too, but the food here really sucks. Buffets and cafes are geared towards seniors and their sensitive stomachs. Only the "gourmet" restaurants in each casino have decent food.

If you come down, say "hi" to me. I mostly play at RS, and move around from 4/8 kill to O8, to NLHE. I'm the dyky looking chick with the big mouth named Felicia

The River Palms will comp your room for 4 hours of play.
