Never heard it used anywhere other then the WSOP. Player just put the "all-in" chip in instead of pushing all the chips in. Apprearently it saves time and does not slow up the game. I personally have not experienced it.

I tell her no as I'm sure the floor is just going to come over and repeat "black doesn't play".

[/ QUOTE ]

This is just disgusting. Players, dealers, and floor all acting inappropriate. Where is this again? I never want to go to a place where they treat "blacks" with such disrespect.

I didn't read the rest of this thread but here in LA for a while now the card rooms have issued dealers all in buttons to throw in front of players who announce all in. It saves time and avoids mistakes by dealers and players. We had a thread about this a month or so ago.

The black is not the issue here, Dude. I'm talking about drawing a line in the sand, Dude. Across this line, you DO NOT... Also, Dude, "black" is not the preferred nomenclature. "African-American", please.

what the dealer should have done was announced an all in from the other player so there is no confusion for any party. i bet you if he flopped top set he would have tried putting it in. he obv missed and didnt want to put any more money in the pot.

by the dealer announcing an all in, if the other guy wanted his 100 to play he could have asked for it broken down (if it was on the table as a buyin) or he could have said yes i am all in for my last 15.

if the whole table knew he was using it as a card-protector and wasn't part of his stack then I think the chances of him trying to include it in his all-in if he flopped a set are not very high.

yes this may be true but at least the opportunity for that to happen wouldnt arise. i probably shouldnt have said what he would have done if he flopped big but by the dealer annoucing an all in it lets everyone at the table know the action, because some may not know that his 100 isnt in play.
