Poker in Nassau Bahamas
I know Atlantis does not have poker, and Crystal Palace did at one point but on my trip there in June they had closed the poker room. Is there any where to play poker in Nassau? And I never understood why Atlantis doesn't have poker.

Re: Poker in Nassau Bahamas
I don't have the answer to this but I want to add to your question. I am taking a 7 day cruise from Miami on Aug 26 and will be stoping in Nassau St. Thomas and St. Marteen. The wife will want to see the sites but id like to play poker at one of these stops. Are any any good?
Ive also heard the cruise ship has 1/2NL and is very soft so i hope to make some money there to |

Re: Poker in Nassau Bahamas
I heard the cruise ship rakes are something ridiculous, maybe up to even $10 or $15.
Atlantis hosts a WPT event, so I have wondered the same thing. |

Re: Poker in Nassau Bahamas
The rake is very steep on Royal Caribbean. I heard it can be up to $15. However I believe Carnival offers 3/6 limit hold 'em using the pokerpro on the ship you mentioned. I will be going on the Fascination which has the same deal and have used this before. The rake is 10% up to $6, not terrible but steep none the less. Players are usually all terrible because they are tourists who play poker with the buddies.
Getting back to the topic at hand... |

Re: Poker in Nassau Bahamas
More on the Boat Poker. When I went on carnival out of New York last year it was 3/6 Limit but a guy who went in June this year reported it changed to 1/2 NL. It is always the electronic tables on Carnival. So im not sure what you get but either will be OK. I called and asked Carnival and they didn't have an answer. I also heard that there are some players who stay on the boats full time because they can make enough money. Does anyone know someone who does this?

Re: Poker in Nassau Bahamas
I was on a Carnival Cruise Ship (I think the name of the ship was Sensation, but I could be wrong) for spring break and they had 3/6 and 5/10 limit going. No electronic tables. Dealers were good. Rake was I believe 10% up to 6 or 7. Game's were really soft, but they stopped the game every night around 2 or 3am.

Re: Poker in Nassau Bahamas
Carnival has poker pro machines on MOST of their ships, but on a few they have live games with dealers. I don't think you can actually turn a profit on these pokerpro machines as the rake is too steep. $6 max on a 3/6 game can get hefty.
