Default tunica question

granny is going to tunica this friday for a week. i have been there a few times, but it was more than a decade ago.

few questions..

1. i am staying at the grand in the 'terrace' hotel. it is rated higher than the grand's 'veranda' hotel. is the terrace nice? the reason i ask is because the horseshoe and bally's sheraton were sold out completely. is the grand not sold out because it has turned to a dump?

2. any regular weekly tourneys that anyone reccomends at grand or horseshoe?

3. i'm looking for 15-30 or 20-40 lhe. will i find this at the grand, or do i need to go to horeshoe? which room has the softest players?

4. any other rooms worth playing? i.e. last time i was there i stayed at sam's town and the poker room there was a filthy dump. is the grand and horseshoe still the best places to play, or am i missing a room?

TIA!

I go to Tunica often.

1. The Grand is not a dump. It is a pretty standard hotel. Good, but nothing special.
2. No info for you.
3. You'll have to play at Horseshoe for higher limit HE.
4. Goldstrike is my personal favorite on the weekend. I play the uncapped $1/$2 or $2/$5 NL. Whichever game has the least familiar faces. It takes about 3 orbits to get a decent read of your table. Nothing tricky.

I actually wasn't too lazy to tell you. I was just taking care of my daughter and couldn't type as fast.

sorry for my ignorance, but what you mean by uncapped? re-raises when it is HU?

this leads me to another question. what's the standard raises allowed in town? 3? 4?

Uncapped NL = no max buy-in.

Unless I'm misunderstanding him/her what he means is no limit on the buy in. Every place I played in LV had a cap on the buy in. In Tunica I've seen people buy in for 2k+ on a 1/2 NL.

If it's someone that has no clue then I love it. When it's an ultra agg player sometimes they cause headaches.

I'll take you up on the coffee.
