Default QJs - Fire River?

SB is playing 16/11/2.35 (800 hands)

Button ($21)
SB ($182.20)
BB ($40)
UTG ($23.80)
MP ($187.25)
Hero ($133.60)

Preflop: Hero is CO with J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $3.50</font>, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, SB calls $3, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>.

Flop: ($8) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero bets $6.5</font>, <font color="#CC3333">SB raises to $18.4</font>, Hero calls $11.9.

Turn: ($44.80) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
SB checks, Hero checks.

River: ($44.80) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
SB checks, <font color="#CC3333">Hero ... ???

On a blank river I bet every time, but this guy is smart enough to know that we won't be able to tolerate a shove, right? Does he have the balls to do it? Is he confident enough that I can lay down kings?

This was about my 30th hand at the table and I was playing 22/20.

Flop call is ok I guess since you're looking for a T or any [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. I don't try and get fancy here against a 16/11, or anyone I guess. c/f the river

Calling with a gutshot and (debatable) overs for a 5th of your stack OOP is pretty bad here.

He's not OOP, but it's still a bad call imo.

As played I'd just check it down and not lose any more because he's calling.
