neteller upgrade email, weird language

That's the weird bit, they saying I have to upgrade? I sent them stuff to get certified a week ago and they never replied, now I get this email. Anyone else get it?

Yes. I sent it back to them saying I'd received an obvious phishing e-mail, because who would believe Neteller would write:

"How to upgrade your account

To upgrade your account, please email a clear colour scan or digital photograph showing all four corners of the following documents to upgrademe@neteller.com:

A copy of your passport displaying the photograph and passport number or

A copy of your driving license displaying the driving license number and

A utility bill (e.g. an electricity bill) or a paper bank statement displaying your name and address that has been issued within the last 3 months – unfortunately we cannot accept online bank statements

Upgrading your account can take up to 7 business days from the time we receive your documents. We assure you, it’s worth the wait!"

Uh... what? Are you making fun of me? I don't understand. I just don't get the "Upgrade before 31st Oct *or else*"

Anyway, I sent the stuff away. Is there any chance upgrademe@neteller.com is not a good email address?

I think he was joking. Anyway, I already did. It's @neteller.com... that's their normal address. Only thing I found weird was the implied threat that our account would be closed if we didn't.

NETeller has had a history of sending seemingly sketchy e-mails that were legit

always just go to the live help to confirm everything

never use links from the e-mail

etc.

the certification at neteller goes to certifyme@neteller.com

not the email address listed above. Plus, they dont send it to you as certification only allows easy access to your money, something they dont obviously go out of their way to encourage.

this does not look like it came from neteller IMO

I chatted with Neteller via their web page when i got the email. they say it is legit. I sent the info in.
