Yeah, but they're not fully automated. They still need Lee Jones to operate the doomswitch.

"but the Four Winds is the first casino to go totally automated, a prospect that has manufacturer PokerTek licking their chops."

This is not true.
The Southland dog-track in West Memphis, Arkansas has a poker-room that only uses these tables (because only electronic gaming is allowed...no physical cards or chips are allowed in Arkansas).

So unless the FourWinds did this several months ago I don't think they are the first.

Here's a link to the rather unspectacular but slick looking Memphissport magazine.

http://www.memphissport.net/images/m...NE6/index.html

On page 12-14 is an article about the poker-room at Southland.
The article says that the automated Southland poker-room has been open since April and has 8 tables.

I think there's an ad for the room on page 11 but I'm not getting that page to load for some reason.

Oh yeah. I thought he'd left, but then I couldn't recall. I'm so out of it these days.

Doomswitch must not work, then. It required someone with the "nice guy" persona of Lee as a smokescreen, and how many of people like that are there in poker?

Rake is $3 at 4 Winds vs. $5 at most competitors with a $1 bad beat and no dealer tokes.

I was skeptical, and dissapointed when I heard 4W was putting in an all electronic room. I've been converted. Hell, I wish they'd let me 2 table!

I love paying the low rake with no dealer errors or delays for management bullcrap. Around here they charge $6 every 1/2 hour for $1/2nl with a max $200 buy in. And take their sweet ass time with everything. $8 for 2/5. I hate paying time.

I love the no time charge and low rake. Love it.

Serious question: how do they protect these games against collusion/cheating, when there's nobody there to observe the players' conduct during the hands?
