is that orange peel idea good? [/ QUOTE ] Yes. I sometimes use a piece of apple. It sometimes gets moldy if I forget about it, but I think orange peel is less likely to do that. |

Re: question for potheads... (weed lifespan)
just stick the orange peel in like 4-6 hours before you're going to smoke it. the weed will take all the moisture from the orange and lose a bit of the dryness

is that orange peel idea good? [/ QUOTE ] Yeah, when you have some old dry gear it can be very useful for rehydrating it up a bit. |

Re: question for potheads... (weed lifespan)
I don't toke anymore, but I'm sure it's fine. My brother used to keep his goodies in a trunk in the attic. He pulled it down last month and found all sorts of relics, including 1oz of excellent homegrown. The trunk hadn't been opened in 4-5 years. The weed was still pretty good. It was properly dried years ago, so I would say that was the key.
I have one of those vacuum sealers, and I'm sure that it would work great for storing anything. |

Re: question for potheads... (weed lifespan)
I would be concerned storing weed in a frost-free freezer in just a Ziploc for the long term due to the periodic temperature changes to cut the frost. I'd put the Ziploc in something else to protect it.
I used to use the orange peel method and recommend it. Wouldn't do any good for long term storage though. |

Re: question for potheads... (weed lifespan)
as other have said its not bad its just dry the THC hasn't gone bad , usually I roll this up in joints other wise my lungs catch fire .
I have 2 ways a store my stash. Daily smoke, I keep in a small Tupperware container holds a little more then an 8th with out cramming. Fits in my pocket if I need it to. Long Term Storage - The rest of the ounce I use for the above. I zip lock and put in one those Ziploc Tupperware containers you can find in the store. Anything longer then that I use a vacuum packed mason jar. To fresh'n it up I hate using orange peels or lettuce as it can distort the taste of the actual bud. What I like to is use a lightly moist paper towel for a day or 2 in warm/cool place. This really only works with a Tupperware container just put it on the edge and close the cover on it so it holds. As far as mold yes wet weed will get moldy but you can tell it will smell strongly of ammonia. Your weed shouldn't be super dry to the point of dust it should be "slightly" sticky but not to wet so that it won't smoke. I don't like Ziploc bags for super sticky stuff as the THC tends to cling to the bags. Also if you don't have a grinder or use a scissor to clip your buds you are doing your self a great disservice |

Re: question for potheads... (weed lifespan)
You don't need to use an apple or orange or whatever. Just wet both ends of a Q-tip or 2 and put it in the bag.
