Default I\'m in Eugene, OR for the next 7 days, what to do?

All,

I have splent plenty of time in Oregon, even living in Lake Oswego for a spell, but I have never been to Eugene until last night. I am here for a week.

Can anyone recommend some good trails? Hikes? or Whatnot?

What about bars? I know its a college town and we are not in season but are there good places to hit during the week/weekend?

Should I just go for a run, being in running town and all?

Any other insight would be cool.

-Calda

Mount Pisgah (Piska?) is good for a hike. It's a college town. Generally crappy normal college stuff around the U of O or downtown.

It's not a big town, don't look for much of a nightlife there. It's very laid back. Saturday market is a big thing for a lot of people.

Create an entirely new genre of rock music, marry a crazy bitch, and then overdose on heroin. Not sure if you can get this done in a week however.

Eugene City Brewery is owned by Rogue. Steelhead has a brewpub there & McMenamins has two (under the names East 19th St Cafe & High St Brewery). I went to Steelhead a few years back & the beers were very tasty.

Activities
Climb Spencer's Butte
Go to an Em's game
Visit Florence for a day
Jog (or bike) the bike paths along the Willamette (take a break at Alton Baker Park)
Hikes are everywhere if you just look around a bit.

Bars
Rennie's (college)
Taylor's (college)
Jogger's ('downtown')
Soriah's (classier but small)
