persistence in pickups

so I've been reading a lot of ASF and other pua websites, not to become a pua, but to become more natural and more popular with women in general ever since i got out of my LTR. These guides say that persistence is a very important trait. They also say that once a girl shows even the slightest signs of no interest/disrespect/whatever, move on.

This seems to contradict itself.

Case study: i kiss close a girl at a bar, go home with her, happen to forget her name and get caught, she says she has her period when i try to steal third (probably bs). anyway I set up a date to a local indie battle-of-the-bands to see a set that we both have friends in, she seems to react positively on the phone during brief conversations to set it up, but then she shows up 45 minutes late with 3 girlfriends and a weak excuse. obviously this is the tldr version bc these things get long if i post all the details. i can post more if it matters but probably not.

so ASF would say to eject her because of the disrespect, but it also says to be persistent and try try again.

someone please give me some direction.

I dont know anything about "PUA"

But common sense says to be persistent applied as such: If a girl is not interested, try another girl. repeat X 100

Not "keep trying with the same girl no matter what"

im not thinking "no matter what", im more thinking along the lines of, you have one more chance, and explicitly say to leave the girlfriends at home this time.

3 girlfriends and 45 minutes late? This shouldn't even be a question unless she was blatantly flirting with you the whole time.

apparently we really hit it off at the bar when i first met her, pity i was blacked out (hence forgetting her name).

also, me forgetting her name i think adds credibility to persistence.

and also, her friends are also friends with the band, i mean its a college band. in retrospect poor choice of venue on my part.

I'd say give her one more chance. Make sure you tell her you want it one on one this time. If she seems the least bit flaky, it's dipset.

I read the PUA stuff for the same reason you did and it helps a ton. I don't wanna bang 100's of chicks just hotter ones.
