which reverse tell did he fall for in the aa hand? [/ QUOTE ] I threw in 2 10k chips and then said, "oh crap, I meant to just call!" Then, when the floor man ruled it a raise, I started crying. |

Re: Hand from Borgata WPT
I say the key is the raised chips with the 3 second verbal call. I think he wanted to c/r the armenian on the flop but the armenian checked behind. The turn was a scare card so mistakenly threw in his intended raising chips but wanted just to call fearing someone may have QJ. I put him on AA/KK/AK. I would call the raise and check call the river depending on the bet.

Thor is an incredibly smart guy. Arguably the best bridge player of all time. [/ QUOTE ] <off topic> While I do not doubt his smartness, I can assure you that he is not close to being the best bridge player ever. Currently, he is probably in the top 100 worldwide (make that top 50 if you want), but the best of all time? No way. </off topic> |

Re: Hand from Borgata WPT
I don't really know much about bridge. All I know is that he's won the big money tournament (cavendish or something?) 4 times, when no one else has ever won it more than twice.

Re: Hand from Borgata WPT
Dont know if this has beed said yet but....Key to the hand is that this is obviously an angle shoot because the guy couldn't have confused the 500 doller chip with a 5k chip because preflop he through in a 500 chip without any trouble. With this being the case he's got 1st or 2nd set and knows that the tournament is deep stack which makes this a perfect oppertunity to confuse the two chip types and throw in 6k instead of 1500 in an attempt to build a huge pot

Re: Hand from Borgata WPT
Grunch:
What hit me was the initial phrase about villain "throwing" in his PF raise: If this is true, I'm thinking that he doesn't expect to get these chips back, so I put less weight on him having a monster PF. The chip fiddling shows confused thinking, so he's either over-excited or flustered, unless you can give him credit for misdirection (pretty unlikely). Since I'm only worried about whether he has a higher set, and his PF raise has aroused doubts in my mind as to whether he has AA/KK; and since on the flop he has not dissembled in a normal manner for a guy with the nuts, I would shove over the top and be happy that I didn't need the case 8 which conveniently fell on the river. |

Re: Hand from Borgata WPT
Your comment about "The best bridge player of all time" was an outright exageration or lie. This comment would make any post you make suspect in my eyes.
What you said was the equivalent of saying some misc. top starter in the nba was the best player of all time. |
