Default Re: hitting the ball straight

"Working the ball" is highly over-rated. I'm playing to a 7 right now and the majority of my practice time is spent hitting what ever club gave me fits the last round. I can hit a fade or a draw but I seldom need to shape a shot. My natural swing produces a slight draw.
If you want to score better, work on your short game.

Don't bother working on playing a certain ball flight until wou are scratch or better. I have fluctuated between scratch and 3 in the last 3 years and i might work the ball 3 times a round. I just know how to hit a draw/fade if I need to but I try not to depend on it in some do or die situation.
