have the overheating and hardware failure and disc scratching problems been resolved with the 360?

we will see in the coming year or so with the new models, but I doubt it. The only thing that has changed is the 3 year warranty. As far as I know.

Yes, it's been completely resolved, and the consoles are now guaranteed to last for centuries. Can't believe you didn't hear about the announcement.

The disc scratching issue is somewhat the user's fault. If you move the 360 while its in motion the discs can get scratched. Just be careful when using it.
