Re: Best college town in America?
The best I've been to are DC and Pittsburgh as far as major cities go, and as far as straight college towns, State College.

Boston.
Tons of colleges which are actually good academically and socially, awesome sports, millions of bars, etc. Only downside is the weather, but that just means everyone is inside drinking and sexing during the winter. |

Re: Best college town in America?
Er, if you're defining the question as "what is the best city in America that has a college" in it, the usual NYC/LA/Miami/LV suspects obviously win.
I don't think of Pittsburgh or Boston as "college towns". Ann Arbor(whore that she be) is a college town. |

Re: Best college town in America?
I was basically asking about "college towns" like Ann Arbor, Gainesville, etc.
Madison and Austin would still count, as they still are mainly identified with their universities. Boston, Chicago, NY (et al) would be more "cities with colleges in them". |

State College is the winner then.

Re: Best college town in America?
From where I've been, Charlottesville (UVA) and Ann Arbor (Michigan) have been the winners.
