Default Poker Superstars Championship?

Apparently I'm out of the loop. What's the difference between the Poker Superstars III Championship that was on TV on Sunday and the Poker Superstars III tournament thingamabob that has the 24 players playing a bunch of matches, reduced to the round of 16, etc. etc . . . ? I mean, obviously they are completely different events -- so what's up with the identical names?

Poker SuperStars Championship III (PSC3) on NBC Sports is a single-table, $500000 winner-take-all freeroll for the 8 quarterfinalists of Poker SuperStars Invitational Tournament III (PSIT3) on FSN.

Both PSC and PSIT are produced by HSOR, Inc., the company founded by Henry Orenstein, who holds the patent for the under-the-table hole card camera.

The top 8 players from PSI season 3 played each other last night in a one table freeroll. The winner is the champ of the invitional 8man tourney, but the winner of the season is considered the PSI 3 champ.
