I think this show will be like Juggler's series, Seduction School, which I really enjoyed. Basically a bunch of virgins/internet forum posters with trouble getting girls. However, the Juggler and Mystery styles are so different that I don't think I'll be able to bring myself to watch it. My bet is that instead of focusing on the guy's internal issues and working to help them be more confident with themselves and thus ultimately women (like the Juggler series), this show will instead be mainly about Mystery's dominant personality and a bunch of cheap gags to "seduce" women. I hope I'm wrong though.

Paging Bruiser...

[/ QUOTE ]

If he was still around, this thread would have hundreds of responses to it by now. Mostly consisting of 2+2 asking for his PUA-camp trip report for the umpteenth time, and Bruiser telling us off for calling Mystery a loser/douche/etc.

I could just copy/paste this post a few dozen times.

I actually saw a DVD set about body language (by David DeAngelo) a few days ago, and Mystery is a guest speaker. After he came on the stage I thought "WHAT THE [censored]!". He looked ridiculous. Weird shoes/boots, like 4 watches, weird clothes. But after he started talking I liked him more and more. He really had great charisma or something. Also, he said after a while 'you think I don't realize I look ridiculous? Come on!' or something along those lines, but that he dresses like that for some reason.

I'm wondering, why do you guys dislike these guys so much? Because you think that what they do actually doesn't work and is BS, or because you think that actually working at becoming better at picking up girls is silly?

Here's an analogy that I think works: you can program a Casio keyboard to play Chopin note for note. But its just a Casio...there is no understanding or feeling or emotion. The Mystery Method is about programming and repetition. This, for me, was what I found both fascinating and disturbing at the same time after reading The Game.

Don't for a moment confuse PUA with "picking up girls"...

The peacocking Mystery uses is to give other people a reason to talk to him ("why do you wear 4 watches?"). However I doubt most people can get away with dressing as outrageous as it won't be congruent with their look.

I think for me there are some lengths you can go to pick up girls, just like making money, that simply aren't worth it. If I can't meet someone as myself, if I have to rely on some kind of parlor trick that pushes the buttons of hot girls with self-esteem issues, it's not worth it.

I'm a pretty weird dude, but every now and then in life I meet my weird match and we have a cool connection. I wouldn't want to kill that chance, however remote, by acting from a script.

I realize it's not all about neg-hits, and the littler bald dude actually appeals to me a lot more. He seems to emphasize working on your own confidence issues and meeting someone for the long haul. Watching Mystery in action is pretty repulsive to me.

Okay, I agree with you guys. I actually only bought some of David DeAngelo's stuff, and he really emphasizes that it's not about tricks or techniques, but about becoming a confident and strong man. Never read any of Mystery's stuff.

No, they were all my friends from high school, still, it worked like a charm.

[/ QUOTE ]
