No kidding.
If you're so certain you could write a superior book than go ahead and do it already.

If it's good enough you should likely be able to get it published somewhere I would think (Mason can correct me if I'm wrong).

This guy is taking the initiative and actually writing it.
2+2 didn't seek him out. And 2+2 wasn't going to ask you to write one either.

Hi Collin
Just wanted to say good luck with the book.

Does anyone know it's release date?? I've read through the thread and cannot seem to find it. I must be retarded.

Just some typos I'd like to address:

One hopefully prefers to stand on the 'shoulders' of giants, not their 'backs.'

****************************************

More importantly, whenever I use a search engine, for instance on amazon.com to look up a book, I try to avoid the various spellings of the term, "holdem" since it has several variations, hold 'em, holdem and erroneous ones.

I suggest we correct and standardize the spelling of the term 'sit and go' if for no other reason than to make Collin's book more asthetically pleasing.

1. The acronym, when pluralized as a noun, should be:

SNGs not SNG's.

2. The use of apostrophes should result in the spellings:

sit 'n' go

sit 'n' gos

or

sit 'n' goes

but not

sit 'n' go(e)'s

nor

sit n' go(e)(')s

The two apostrophes replace the a and the d of the word and. Use two or none at all, the latter often utilizing hyphens and a capital "N."

3. There is a noun 'go' and its plural form is 'goes' according to dictionary.com.

E.g., Houston, the mission is a go.

However, the term sit 'n' go with or without hyphens, doesn't necessarily need an "e" added before the "s" though someone better versed in English should help me here.

As for search engine ease of use, I suggest SNG in the title with an asterisk and subtitle explaining what the term means.

BTW, wikipedia.org has mentioned "sit n' go" probably due to sloppiness.

Hi nuts:

It just so happens that I'm the one who gets to make the decisions that decides how these words are spelled. So it will be:

singular: sit 'n go
plural: sit 'n go's

Best wishes,
Mason

Not only that but the STTF community is friendly and inclusive so I'm not sure where the hate is coming from.

[/ QUOTE ]

No hate, just amusement and annoyance at the vocal few who are so presumptuous as to highly criticize a book that has not been published yet, solely on the basis that the author is not part of the in-crowd.

BTW, I know nothing about the author, and I have doubts about anyone writing a good SNG book, but I am reserving judgment until the book is actually published.

[/ QUOTE ]

You are absolutely correct. I only meant to express my concern over the direction 2p2 was going by having such an important book being written by one unknown author.

Before SSH...ever heard of Ed Miller? Pretty important book at that time (when limit was king), written by an unknown author. Mason is our Lord and Savior...have faith in him.

I think we should all agree that typos will refer to mis-strokes of the keys and not misquotes or erroneous interpetations of rules of grammatical applications.

NYJet - Everyone on 2+2 was with Ed Miller on the writing of this book because he was an active participant on the forums and was extremely well-respected.

His former 2+2 handle was 'Major Kong'. He had many good strategy posts.
Since so many knew him and so many believed that he really knew his stuff pretty much everyone was super-duper looking forward to his book.

I believe I even used the phrase, "I'm about to pee my pants I'm so excited. Hurry up and finish your book already."

So for the 2+2 crowd at the time, Ed Miller hardly came out of nowhere.

Colin does seem to have practically come out of nowhere as far as the SNG-forum crowd is concerned because they had never heard of him before.
