[ QUOTE ]
I cannot discuss how much leaves the table. I would consider Black Hawk the best market in the country to deal in. I would have to say the 2-5 is very beatable. The rake is not as heavy in some markets and it plays much larger than a 3-6 game. I haven't been here long at all so I do not have significant personal records, but knowing games that play smaller with a larger amount coming off the table I know the games have to be beatable. I have not had a losing session yet in Black Hawk, but I have only played here 5 times. I don't know if there are any games up here besides our 5-5 choice that do not have a bad beat; I am not overly concerned with what other casinos are doing. As far as providing a disclaimer I think that would be excessive advertising as I am sure any regular readers of this forum would say that any poker room I am involved with is going to be better than the ones down the street.

[/ QUOTE ]

Just as RR cannot discuss how much leaves the tables, he can't admit that it is next to impossible to beat the rake in 2-5.

If everyone sits with $100 (many don't) and play is 20 hands per hour (low) with average pot at $50, then 10% of the money is off the table before tipping.

Math guys, what win rate is needed to beat the rake 5BB/hr?

For my fellow Colorado residents, you might want to check out my most recent Blog, and see if you might want to do something simular, in order to try and improve our situation here in Colorado.

(FYI, my table nickname is Gabby)

Cincy, you realize you contradicted yourself. In one post you said that it's only a rule while in hand, then next post you argue that the rule is not enforced.

The rule is ENGLISH ONLY AT THE TABLE. If these asians want to talk native, simply get up and leave the table. Otherwise, I know damn well they all know English.. The reason it keeps on going is that no floor person has the balls to tell them they have to speak Eng or leave.

I have wondered why no one has got a voter Referendum passed to up the ante in black hawk at the very least to try and get a specific law just to raise the poker limits maybee something like the $100 buy in in florida I mean u can go through 100 bucks on $5 slots alot quicker than even the worst poker player. even if they had somthing like mo where they cap what u can loose per hr. not sure what has to be done for a Referendum I asume it just has to be drafted and recive enough signatures then it will go to a vote on the ballot. I am not sure if it would pass the vote or not but I guess geting something to a vote is better than nothing

the reson they don't tell them to speak english is because they are the bigest tippers I have a friend who use to deal at the gilpin and he told me just yesterday if there is a huge pot going and there is a asian in the pot he is rooting for the asian. he told me they are the ones who pay the dealers wage's And the dealers take care of them. he also said when i asked him about collusion he dosen't think there is any going on. this guy no longer deals so there really is no reson for him to lie

there is a gross conflict of interest in this thread.
[ QUOTE ]
alright. let me take a stab at this math as I understand it.

let the game be beatable at a winrate of x, where x = # of big bets/hour.

since the rake is capped at ~$7/pot (is this 10%?), let's assume an average rake of $5 per pot/no flop no drop.
assuming a dealing rate of 35 hands/hour, that's $175 coming out of circulation every hour out of $1750 total that's exchanging hands every hour.

although you can't calculate the true rake you are paying without your pots won/pots lost ratio, i highly doubt this game can be beaten; if it can, it's probably at 10bb/hour or more.

by all means, if there's someone out there with more math tricks, please correct me.

the assumed numbers Furyion21 uses are on the conservative side.

As far as this goes, it means its up to Gilpin/Lodge to decide how many places pay. Why then would they not allow 6 players to chop when all wanted to. The lady was very adamant that Gaming won't allow more than 5 spots paid

[/ QUOTE ]

It was previously 5 players. There was a very recent (June 1?) where it was changed to the number of places paid. IF the tournament is advertised as paying 5 places there cannot be a 6 way deal.

[/ QUOTE ]

So, it used to be restricted to 5 place payouts and only recently changed?

[/ QUOTE ]

They have always paid deeper than that in large tournaments, but previously only the top 5 could make a deal to divide up the tournament prize.

My friend would be betting the crap out of the hand, and sure enough, she'd get her belly buster straight, or runner runner flush on the river.

She'd then tip the dealer big, and on to the next hand.

[/ QUOTE ]
This isn't collusion.

edit: Also, similar.

Actually, I was trying to combine quotes from TT, who was quoting me, and I'm not so good sometimes in getting the HTML coding right.

The Quote you mentioned, was from TT, and I was responding to it.
