Happiest: UCLA winning 1995 National Championship in basketball, watching the game in a bar in Westwood.

Saddest: When I heard that Hank Gathers died. I was going to LMU graduate school at the time.

Happiest: 2006 Rose Bowl, when VY scored the go-ahead touchdown and then, later, when time ran out.

Saddest: I would say Oilers/Bills in 1992, but the thing is, is my dad figured the game was over at halftime (which to this day really bothers me whenever I miss historic sports moments for stupid reasons... example: Game 6 of the 1998 finals Jordan over Russell missed that because of channel flipping/"oh the game is over" >:-( ), so he changed the channel and I didn't see the meltdown in the 2nd half. (I was 9 at the time, couldn't control it)

I remember the Music City Miracle pissing me off at the time, but I've since had a change of heart about it.

In the 1991 World Series, game 7, Jack Morris 10-inning shutout kinda pissed me off at the time too, but again, change of heart in later years.

Duke-Md 2001: if memory serves, I think Duke got the lead down to single digits at half. The final score wasn't close, so I'm not sure why there is whining about the refs.

Happiest: Devils OT Stanley Cup win in 2000. Only better way to win a championship is the walk-off home run.

I dunno if this is my saddest, but if not it's definitely in the top 3 or so.

Games 5 and 6 of the 2006 NBA Finals are up there too.

Happiest: '99 Stanley Cup -- Stars & Sabres. What crease?

dude, seriously.. you deserve it. This is inexcusable. The Bills/Oilers makes some sense. This.. none at all.

The Niners did play the Giants on MNF later that season, and Hearst did cement the win and the cover (the spread was actually SF -13, maybe had it teased?) with a 4th quarter 70-yard TD to make the score 31-7.

[/ QUOTE ]

That was teh game. Isn't that funny I couldn't remember the spread, but I remember the bet and the game.

Thanks!
