When a game is a must move I have found it is better than the main game because the fish can't keep their stacks long enough to make it to the main. I wish I could just stay at the must move all night sometimes!

You got THAT right. I'd put up with Bellagio's crappy $200 max buy-in at the NL2/5 game if I could just stay at the must move game the whole time.

[/ QUOTE ]

I agree also and I'm surprised more people don't realize it especially the regulars that insist on 'protecting the main game'. I recently played 15-30 at the Wynn where there were two feeders into the main game. The first two games were fine but the main game was terrible and I left. LV is a tourist gambling town. There are plenty of gambling choices and a lot of people will sit in a poker game for a few hours. These are the people you want to play against but even if they don't lose their chips they very often don't want to put in the hours and will never make it to the main game. If I was a regular at Wynn I'd lobby to get rid of the must move and next time I play there I'm going to sit out an hour and rejoin the list when it's my turn to move to the main game.

Agree, I played in the worst B&M game in detroit because of the must move. I was playing over 10+ hours and it was the same rocks. I understand the must move, but as mentioned earlier when there is a wait list its stupid.

a few months ago i was at motor city and a double must move was going.
Feeder table 1 -> Feeder table 2 -> main game

I left while still at Feeder table 2, and that table sucked, i cant imagine how bad the main game would be

What is the big deal with this main table that you would wait on a list for it?

You're telling me. The first time at Bellagio I sat down at the must move table I didn't know it was a must move and it was the softest NL table I had ever been at. Holy crap! The cards hit me on the side of the head and I kept getting called with bottom pair, etc. In a span of 15 min I turned my $200 into almost $700. Then my name got called and when I moved to the main table my jaw dropped because that $700 was suddenly a small stack and the table. Took me about $300 to realize that the players were a bit better!

I imagine if more people that frequent these rooms had read Mason's article against must-move games X months ago they wouldn't be fans of the system, which is just a bad decision poker rooms have adopted that never seems to go away.

I don't have time to go into detail, but must moves are bad. I will be offline for a few days so won't have a chance to post my thoughts here, but if Rick weighs in in this thread he is 100% correct.

Must move is bad in casinos like Resorts, always a must move no matter how long the list, the main games only get new blood that has weathered 3 or 4 hours of a must move table(meaning probly no fishies). It is not that bad at say Commerce where they take the must move off of a game once a board list grows beyond the capacity of the must move table

Barron, I tried to find Mason's article but could not find it. I assume it was in one of the previous online magazines. If you know of a place I could get that article, I would appreciate it very much. I continually argue agaisnt the must move at some local card clubs and believe this article could help in my endeavour.

Cash out, go eat, stay gone at least an hour, get back on the list.
