I 100% believe this email. We got letters every fall asking us to write our scholarship's donors to thank them. It wasn't a "you should send them a letter." It was a "you may submit your letters to us by XXXX date."

Followup after followup until you did it -- I hated it. A spontaneous letter to the donors (instead of a package from the university) would be so much nicer.

No threats to take our moniez, but yeah -- this is definitely credible.
