Default Raising small pocket pairs in EP

Alright, so I almost never limp. And I hate it too, just as much as you do. However, since I moved to NL 50 I've noticed people 3-bet lighter and heavier, which has caused me to fold my EP raises often. Now, I know that if I limp/call in EP, most people will put me on a pp, but is that really such a bad thing? Most donks still pay you off with overpairs, even TPTK.

Pairs 22-99 are interesting since the general idea is that you raise them from any position as I do (sometimes I call in the sb or in position with many limpers). Anyways, has anyone ever tested both methods, say played 20k hands raising all pairs in all positions and then playing 20k hands limping pairs 22-99 in UTG and UTG+1 (6-max)? I'm really curious if always raising is really that much a superior method as I lose value when I'm facing premium hands that 3-bet enough so that I can't set mine, while I gain in taking control and disguising my hand a bit.

Discuss.
