Chavez appears to be a fool, but is "Washington . . . using psychological and economic warfare as part of an unconventional campaign aimed at derailing his government"? Chavez being foolish is no reason for us to make life worse for Venezuelans. We're doing the same thing in Iran. Chavez has certainly given us plenty of evidence that he's incompetent. But so has the Bush administration, which has many of it own private wars. And it's much more dangerous than is Chavez.
