I'm baffled, early MTT

Villain is a younger guy (earlyish 30's) and doesn't seem a donk, but this is the first time I've played with him. No real reads. I normally assume somewhat TPAish.
I'm in LP with about 7k and villain covers.
It was a small (4-tables) $40 buyin tourney.

blinds are at 25/50 level 1.
PF: hero is dealt A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], villain limps UTG, 2 MP's call, I bump to 350, only villain calls.

Flop [J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]]: Check, check.

Turn [5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]]: Check, check.

River [K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]]: Villain leads for 300, I make it 900 after a couple of seconds thought, he insta-shoves.

??? Does anyone get away from this?

Without a super read of him getting nuts I would consider folding this. With the paired board it would be pretty loose for him to push Q9 or AQ after your raise. He might not be a great thinking player, but seriously, what better hand would call him?

Given the OOP limp he would check a big hand on the flop in order to slowplay it, which most amateurs do. Same with the turn check, if he has three Js or turned a boat.

I would generally fire out 500-600 on a flop like this, by the way. You pick up the pot a ton of the time from limped connectors or small pairs, that will win the pot if you check it down. They can't call a continuation bet, generally, if you fire through here.

okay, I threatened to cbet the flop, but I kinda like waiting until the later levels to start that. I usually get even more respect when I wait.
I was thinking after he shoved that he only showed strength when I hit my hand. KT?!??!? I thought? NAH! I must be crazy to fold. I call! And I just take whatever he has to beat me with.
Turns out he just waited to the right time. He flipped JTspades. I rolled my eyes back and my cards into the muck. Time for a beer.

I just don't see how to get away from this. Meh, it happens I suppose.

Tough position to be in, especially since villain hasn't shown strength on any other street. Only seven hands beat you at this point, and you can eliminate T5 from that list. I would put him on a ten, but he could easily have KT or 55. It's really a judgment call based on your read at this point I think, but I would probably call.

I'm still an MTT noob, but if you didn't know how to react to a big reraise, you probably shouldn't have raised to begin with.

Any somewhat decent player isn't shoving a 10 here when the straight gets there. The only thing we beat in this spot is Q9.

Yeah, you seriously aren't committed enough to be calling here. I fold this fairly easily considering your risk/reward.
