Fantasy Football - Scoring for IDP league
This is the first year our league is doing IDP (on Yahoo), and I was wondering a couple of things:
1) What should roster spots look like (how many IDP spots)? We've typically done: QB, RB, RB, WR, WR, WR, TE, WR/RB, K, DEF the past few years. 2) What should the scoring system be for both offense and defense? Thanks! |

Re: Fantasy Football - Scoring for IDP league
Try to balance the scoring between OFF and DEF. If interceptions and fumbles cost OFF players -2 points, then they should be worth 2 points for DEF players. If QB loses points for sacks, make sacks worth the same amount on DEF. Otherwise, 1 point for the sack (they also get a point for the tackle). One point for tackles, 2 for safeties, 6 for TD, and 2 blocked kicks.
I've played in IDP leagues where sacks, INT, and fumble recoveries were 4 points each, and it really skews player vaule in favor of defense. You can be kicking a guys ass going into Monday Night when his linebacker has a 2 sack - FR - INT - TD night and your opponent shoots right past you. Don't overvalue DEF stats. |

Re: Fantasy Football - Scoring for IDP league
Ive read arguements that say that IDP is actually worse then Team DEF. Something about you cant predict when a sack or INT will occur, but you can predict how good a Team DEF will be? Any thoughts on this?
