Live - QQ deepstacked, what am I doing on the turn?

I was actually home for thanksgiving so I was playing at Sandia casino in Albuquerque.

Unfortunately I don't think that if I bet the turn I can ever get away from the hand, it's all going in.

Actually the fact that this person was LAG is what worried me. They seem to me atleast to want to slow play big pocket pairs in situations like this. A good TAG player probably pushes preflop, but a LAG player could do anything.

Do you all think someone really tries to hit a set here? Seems like a horrible call for set mining to me.

I wouldn't recommend 4-betting with QQ with such deep stacks even if it is live.

Because of the inflated post-flop pot it's hard to lay it down now (which I don't like as he could easily have a slow-played AA/KK here.) I think given the action so far that I prefer a c/r here- at the risk of giving a free card to a FD or AK. As any hand that beats you would call a turn bet anyway, whereas a lower PP would most likely fold.

I think I'd call here. You can profitably call for set value. And if UTG+1 comes over the top and CO goes all-in, then you can pretty safely fold QQ here.

The only wrinkle is that you end up OOP if UTG+1 just calls and the flop is all low, like this one. At that point, if you and UTG+1 had just called pf, the only thing I really don't like is c/r. I think I'd donk the flop and consider folding to a big raise is I thought UTG+1 and CO aren't the kind who overplay TT-JJ "overpairs" post flop. If either of them are the kind who overplay TT-JJ post flop, then I think that I might c/c the flop, then lead the turn where I might fold to a big raise, too. This sort of stop & go might keep the pot manageable despite our bad position.

Anyway, as played, I think you just have to push the turn. You are behind KK-AA, but ahead of hands like TT-JJ and AKs. There is so much in the pot now relative to your effective stacks that you're pretty much committed for the rest.

For real? I don't play live but 300BBs with one pair Queens? LAG doesn't necessarily mean "idiot". What's his flop call range? [99-AA, AdKd, AdQd]? If it is (IMO mad loose), we're owned. I check-fold turn as played.

EDIT: Didn't realize we're getting pot odds. Still, I think this sucks big time.

I like your fourbet preflop, and I agree his call is bad if he's got 88, 55, 22. If he's got 99: does he even get to the turn? Could have TT, JJ, KK, AA, AdKd, maybe AdQd. Then again live players can be amazingly bad sometimes, and he's a relative unknown, right? Still, tough spot.

I agree that I'm overplaying the queens post flop here, but the problem is that I put so much money in on the flop, I imagine that would have gotten most hands that would have nailed that flop out, so I'm only losing to a slow played As or Kings. Next time this does happen I think I will most likely just call with the queens though unless I see the other player is 3 betting very light. Thanks for all of the responses, this has been by far the most helpful thread that I've started.

If I made it seem like Im happy in this spot, Im not...but with half my stack in already, I bet the turn hard/push...

99 is an over pair to the flop, I could see a live unknown take a turn card. Do I think its a great play? NO...have I seen a live player do this? Almost every time Ive ever played live... [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img]
