Default First time: online to live play - err.... help?

Ok, so I'm off to vegas with the girlfriend in a month or two. And the girlfriend being the crazy fool that she is, wants me to play poker at Bellagio or Wynn or Venetian or some other such 'nice' room because it would be 'nice'. I've never played NL live before, and am terrified. The girlfriend is one mad bitch. I'm probably going to marry her. Or something.

Anyway, I've played online for about two months, and have got to the stage where I run a decent profit at NL50, and a very small profit at NL100 (on average on Full Tilt).

Questions:

1 - should I even consider playing NL at Bellagio or Venetian or whatever?

2 - If I do, what limits should I play such that (a) I won't get completely assraped, and (b) preferably have a shot at winning something? I'll likely be playing late evenings on weekdays, if thats relevant...

Never been to Vegas, but from what I hear if you beat NL50 online you should just kill 200NL live. I don't think you should be scared. I recently played live for the first time at a local casino 200NL and the play was absolutely horrific. You will get called down 60 bucks from a guy with 7 high for absolutely no reason.

SWEET!!

But... I guess places like Bellagio/Venetian would be quite a bit tougher? This is pretty much a guess though...?

That's not nearly enough to get an idea of how good you are. I would play the lowest live nl table you can find for 2 reasons:

1) You're not a proven winner online.
2) Playing for your first time live can be pretty stressful and I guarantee you won't be playing your A game, I know I didn't my first time.

Actually no. Remember, vegas is for tourist and tourist play the lowest limits. You will find most people at a 1/2 game to be beyond horrible..... I sat at 1/2 games worst than any .01/.02 game online. Now saying that, bad beats will happen more often and aspect a lot of ups and downs. Now I wouldn't suggest you to grind out 1/2 games.... considering the rake.... but playing in them and winning shouldn't be too hard.

I played a lot of different rooms over a week spent in Vegas, and I really liked the $1/3 game at Caesars, and the $1/2 game at MGM Grand. Bellagio has a $2/5 game, but I didn't play that too much as the stakes were a little high for me. Wynn has a $1/3 game that should be pretty good. I didn't play at the Venetian, but I think that's a $2/5 game.

The $1/2 and $1/3 games played like online 10NL during the weekend. If you have a few hundred dollars to play poker with, I wouldn't worry about losing too much.
