Default Hand caught in the Cookie Jar

Live 40 at Bay 101

I normally stay away from 40-80 all together but decided to jump in considering the 20 game wasn't opening anytime soon.

I was curious about any other possible lines i could have taken against this extreme tight wad.

UTG+1 player who is the tight wad and thinks he is the best player in the world raises, CO calls, I call with J Hearts T Hearts on the button, rest fold.

Flop: Qh Kh 3c

Tighty Wighty bets, CO folds, I call

Turn T, he bets, I RAISE, he thinks for about 20 seconds and calls and checks in the dark

river is a black 6

i don't like the turn raise, he's not folding anything you beat. check the river and prepare to muck

He isn't folding a better hand on the river. I usually put in somewhere between 467 and 468 bets on this flop.

This is an unusual way for me to play the hand. I just thought he could lay down AA or AK here against a turn raise.

You're a huge favorite over any hand on the flop except a set, and even at that it's probably a flip. This is a super-easy flop raise for value, as surfdoc and others have said. Waiting until the turn to raise doesn't make any sense, as your equity plummets once you brick off the turn.

His action on the turn (and the river dark check) means he's going to showdown 100% of the time, and doing it with a Q or a K or better. You don't have the best hand and he's not folding. You lose.

But raise that gorgeous flop. Would you raise with an overpair? You would? OK, well JhTh is better than an overpair here. Pump it.
