Re: JJ vs EP raiser all in on flop
Should I not be re-raising this preflop if i'm not willing to felt a flop like this?

Re: JJ vs EP raiser all in on flop
You need 29.5% equity, against 99+ you need 28.6%, once you factor in a few bluffs, this is an easy call[made easier because he's playing short] imo.

I agree with what Luke said. |

Re: JJ vs EP raiser all in on flop
Villian has to feel pretty good about TT, 88, 66, 55, 44 on this board. I would call pretty quickly. I don't really see how we can justify folding an over pair to a short stack getting over 2:1 in a reraised pot.

Re: JJ vs EP raiser all in on flop
Really? So you guys think villain is doing this with either TT, or TPTK? This doesn't seem as easy a call to me as you're suggesting, I'd like to hear more. In my opinion, villain is most likely doing this with a set or an overpair. If he has an overpair, then unless it's TT, we're still only drawing to 2 outs. I'm trying to learn so I'd really like to hear why this could be a call.

Re: JJ vs EP raiser all in on flop
Well we need 29.5% equity (trusting Luke and not checking the math) and even against a range of 99+ hero has 28.6%.

Re: JJ vs EP raiser all in on flop
He does have 29% vs. 99+, but if you take out TT, then he has closer to 11%.
So the question isn't his range anymore. It's just "Would he do this with TT?" If so, then you're 30% vs. his range. If not, then you're drawing to 2 outs. |

[/ QUOTE ] I agree that my range my not be accurate [though i do think that a lot of players, particulary those playing short, shove TT here], but we can't realistically put him on a range here because we don't know anything about the opponent. I was just demonstrating that against an unknown, we're good enough to call enough of the time here against a pretty tight range. fwiw, i think it's pretty weak folding this against an unknown, a lot of players are bluffing a lot here. |

Villian is an unknown so we pretty much have to assume that he would play TT in this manner. |
