Red River Roundup
Has anyone heard anything about the Red River Roundup that the Winstar Casino is promoting. Supposedly David Williams and Raymer are going to play in it and thier is a $5000 bounty on them. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows anything about it and weather or not it is 18 years old and up like the casino and also if the final event will be played at the Winstar. Thanks for any information.

Re: Red River Roundup
Yea i know that the casino is 18 and up, just wondering if the Red River Roundup is 18 and up since the winner not only gets 40% of the prize pool, but also a wpt package.

Re: Red River Roundup
I won a $150 satelite into the event.
For the satelite: 1500 in chips. 9 players. 25-50 blind that doubled every 30 minutes. I am looking for more info on the actual tourney structure. All I know is that 252 play down to 9 on Friday. 252 more play down to 9 on Saturday. Final 18 on Sunday. Surely they can't just give you 3k and double every 30 minutes right? in 6 hours, blinds would be 100k (by my math) with only 750k chips in play |

Re: Red River Roundup
I played in the tournament last year(13th)....
Yes the blinds do double every 30 mins and its a pretty bad scructure for an 1100.00 buy in. There is also no antes. |

Re: Red River Roundup
saw a post on another board (sorry no link) from winstar that had the structure. The blinds increase every 30 min, but do not double. They go 25/25; 25/50; 50/100; 75/150; 100/200; 200/400/25; 300/600/50, etc. One weird thing is they go 1500/3000/300 to 1500/3000/400.
Pretty brutal if only top 18 pay though, which is what I've heard. |

Re: Red River Roundup
Yes they are supposed to be in the tourney and there is a $5,000 bounty on each of them as well as a $5,000 bounty on last years winner.

Re: Red River Roundup
i just called them for a few questions.
she could not tell me what the blinds started at b/c she didn't have a clue what she was talking about. what she could tell me was that you start with T3000 and the blinds double every 30 mins. sounds like a very poor structure for a $1100 buy-in. no idea on the age limit. i won't play unless i luckbox my way in on a $150 satellite(9 people...winner gets seat plus $150 back). |

Re: Red River Roundup
They are claiming they can have up to 504 people, but I just don't see how that's possible unless they magically create about 20 new tables within the next month AND find a place to put them...

Re: Red River Roundup
attn: greg raymer
is it just me, or is this a ridiculously bad tournament regarding the vig and structure? i'm assuming you're not putting any of your own money in to play this thing. |
