Re: 25 nl - AK in 3bet pre flop hand
against those stats I probably just push preflop and they'll call with all kinds of junk. (obviously sometimes I'm in trouble)
IF he only raises with decent hands, that's actually not a great flop for you since QQ, KK and AA are all still beating you. |

Re: 25 nl - AK in 3bet pre flop hand
I like a 4bet preflop, especially since we are in position.
The only thing we really have outflopped is JJ. We're tied with AK, behind AA, KK, QQ, and 10 10. |

Re: 25 nl - AK in 3bet pre flop hand
I'd push preflop. You're way ahead of his range if he's 42/34. This is a tricky spot but someone who's 42/34 could have a whole bunch of hands here, not just 2pr+.

I push preflop
On this flop I fold to the bad board. |

Re: 25 nl - AK in 3bet pre flop hand
I would generally 4-bet this PF against this type of villian, 42/34 is very aggressive and without knowing anything else about his 3-bet range I would have to think you are way ahead of it.
On the flop I can't see folding to this loose of a villian and probably stack off with TPTK and a GS, given the pot and stack sizes. |

Re: 25 nl - AK in 3bet pre flop hand
I didn't realise 4bet/pushing ak would be such popular answer. Its not something i do here alot to be honest. This is mainly to do with his stats though, correct?
If villian was something more normal like 18/15, am i still looking to 4 bet or just call see the flop. I did fold flop cause really didnt like it much. |

Re: 25 nl - AK in 3bet pre flop hand
Even if he's TAG, 4betting AKs is still good. He may have thought you were trying to steal. He could have a mid pocket pair, or JJ that he'll lay down. He could have AQ, or AKo. The only hands we really don't want him to have are AA and KK, everything else makes us about even money or a favorite.
IMO except against ultra nits, 4betting AKs pf is standard, especially in position. |
