i think preflop you should probably raise given that utg is a lag and utg+1 is a fish. on the flop i like the raise, and on the turn i groan and call both bets hoping it doesnt get capped, folding the river if i dont improve to a straight, two pair, or trips.

Yes, I give the "utg+1 is very loose (60vpip), standard post." credit for coldcalling JT (or 65 for that matter) when he checks/3bets the turn. Your one pair isn't good here, I'm folding without a doubt.

I think another big thing for me is ... by the river, even if I don't improve I may call even two back (as the pot will be really big)

[/ QUOTE ]

What? Are you saying that if the river action goes bet/raise you are going to call UI?

Oh, c'mon. I agree that he's ahead of us with at least aces-up, but putting him on the nuts is MUBS, given the possibility that he knows UTG is LAG and is trying to get HU with him.

Among other things, if both of these reads have developed over the same group of hands then UTG+1 has gotten to 60VPIP with a LAG on his right. His whole range is in there for "aces-up or better": A9/A8/A7/JT/T6/99/88/77/65. You could probably include 98/97/87 for other two-pair hands. That's a lot of hands.

Ok, so I just threw that range into 'stove, and we've only got about 15% equity (giving the LAG a random hand) against UTG+1's range without the non-ace two-pair hands. Add those hands in and it bumps us up to 20%. So it's clearly closer than I thought...I'm a big enough man to admit that. I still think it's too close to lay it down in the heat of the moment, especially if there's a chance that UTG doesn't cap.

I will say, tho, if Hero had pfr'd I'd feel a lot better about folding.

I was half joking in the other post but still I would expect to be shown a straight.

Show me potato salad!

not really sure (and that's the problem) ... by the river you are looking at 20+BB
after calling the turn I would have felt like a pudd'n head - so why stop.
