[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I don't look good with none. Have a hairy chest. I'll look like a '70's porn star. [/ QUOTE ] Then shave your chest. *queue something about how today's men are so feminine or something about it being gay to shave your chest* Ok so then be proud of your hairy chest. [/ QUOTE ] I think this is only acceptable if you are ripped, and even then... OP, I'd run the hairy chest all day, but I ain't 40. White undershirt is probably most appropriate, especially if it isn't too hot out. Definitely don't wear a black undershirt or a wifebeater with a solid black dress shirt. Also, since you are wearing your shirt tucked out w/blue jeans, you probably need black shoes Also, if thats you in the avatar, I'd stick with w/e you are wearing there. It does a good job of outlining your wild side. [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: How to Wear a Button Up Shirt
Yeah the black undershirt is a better option than the white undershirt, but really your undershirt should not be visible. I love the deep-cut V-neck undershirts. I don't like wifebeaters. But when wearing a button-up you want to get that V-action going, so you can't really wear the rounded undershirt underneath. Kind of defeats the purpose.

i never tuck baby i'm sure i own some of those longer in the back joints too [/ QUOTE ] big-ger dudes never tuck. obv. the longer back joint type shirts aren't real wearable if you don't tuck unless you are 6'6 + OP--no t-shirt ever underneath. seriously it is the worst. you were better off w/black then some red/black combo. tuck or untuck is up to you on generally based on body type, but if going casual at all go untuck, maybe even roll up the sleeves. all in all little of this matters. just make sure you are comfortable w/ your clothes and yourself. later. Re: How to Wear a Button Up Shirt
Tuck the shirt if it hangs too long, too loose or is designed to be tucked as mentioned earlier. Otherwise, leave it untucked. If you perspire much or have a hairy chest, wear an undershirt so long as it's not the same color as your dress shirt and color coordinates (white, red, certain blues, green, and gray all work with a black shirt).
If you're unsure, you can always tuck it as it's the standard for guys your age. I personally think tucked shirts look too conservative, unless you have other stuff to wear over it. [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Don't wear an undershirt. If you feel like you have to wear something underneath, wear a black beater. Don't wear visible white undershirts. Ever. [/ QUOTE ] yes [/ QUOTE ] It's all dependent, I guess, but anybody (girl or guy) that would give somebody [censored] about it would be watching too much E! TV, and therefore be a tool. Unless you're going to a formal event this is trivial. |

[/ QUOTE ] If you are 6'6" you can pretty much get away with wearing whatever you want. I can't believe people keep saying don't wear any undershirt. Here in the dirty dirty South it is sick humid (yes even at midnight), and I HAVE to wear a tight undershirt just to absorb the moisture. If I wear no undershirt I get that gross sticky feeling when my arms touch my torso. That's nasty. I need the tight t-shirt to act as a sponge. If I lived up North or in cooler dryer climate, I'd love the ability to not have to wear an undershirt. |
