Default squeeze turns into bluff

ive been raising a lot of pots, but havent been 3betting much

effective stacks are 1200 at a 5/10 table
button open raises, SB calls, I 3bet to 165 with 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
button folds, SB calls

flop is A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
SB checks, I bet 248 or something, he minraises to 496, i shove

how does that look? not a ton of reads but he hadnt done anything retardo yet

i feel like if he has AJ, that sucks, but its unlikely he has anything better than a weak ace, and even if he does look me up my equity isnt too terrible w/ 5 outs

Why do you think he only has a weak ace here calling your squeeze? Maybe I am out of touch with the games, but a weak ace is the last thing I would be calling a squeeze with on the button.

It is tough to put him on a hand outside of JJ or AQ, but he's obviously not folding either of those. I'm thinking the weakest ace he would call a squeeze with is somethin like A10 maybe, and you could probably fold that out, but I don't think he's folding too much else in his range after putting in half his stack

That siad, I understand where you are coming from, because there aren't too many hands in his range that he will be value-raising this flop with...

i didnt necessarily think he had a weak ace, i just thought it was difficult for him to have anything too good

note that he called the squeeze in the SB, not the button

its just that he has less than 700 left and the pot is bigger than that and i feel like any AQ AK cals here, which is what the action appears to be...

i dunno, does he ever min raise bluff here with like 99?

ya i think he does do this occasionally w/ small pp, but i also think AT type hands are pretty likely and aren't going anywhere

and as i pointed out earlier somewhat jokingly...when running bad, do not try high variance plays

whoops! I did not notice that...yeah that changes things. I still think he could have flat called AQ, AJ, but almost certainly not AK or JJ, so those are out of his range. He could more likely have a weaker suited ace or somethin (A10, A9, etc), and he may or may not fold them depending on what he thinks of you. If you have a relatively tight, straightforward image at this point, then by all means, fire away...just keep in mind he has already put in half his stack, so he may call fairly light here

I've done stuff like this and usually regret it, I guess if he has nothing he will fold and if he has something he will call, its probably as simple as that given his line on this board. I think we can definitely run into JJ or even AA here against certain villains.
