I decided to check out the usually lame-o cardplayer tv clips, and there is one called High Stakes Living: Doyles house...

nothing out of the ordinary... until Doyle whips out a gun at the end?! As if that isnt wierd enough... looks like hes got one in his waistband too..

He's just letting any broke degen poker players know that if you gonna try and rob him, be ready to eat some lead. He has been rolled a few times and looks like he got tired of it.

All the road gamblers carried guns in the 60's and earlier. Those games were held up by robbers often and you couldn't report losses to the police because it was illegal to gamble to begin with.

this is not weird. if doyle has a lot of cash lying around, and he's not afraid to shoot someone in the head, it's pretty smart.
