Funny thing, they've started their own forum dedicated to 5-card draw and have a thread there bemoaning the fact that the tables are drying up.

Got a link?

Seriously, if they're winners (well, they're on often enough they can't be spewing money) then the stuff in chat is really really bad for the game.

[/ QUOTE ]

No link. I don't want to promote it. You're not missing anything. Just a lot of whining about the Stars RNG, bewilderment about why the games are drying up and a lot of bad beats.

What's funny is that I'll sit at tables with better players than me who don't berate/whine but I won't with the trash talkers. I'm a recreational player and I'm willing to donate money into the poker economy, but if I'm not having fun I leave. TDL regulars = very friendly. Draw regulars = bitch and moan.

One of the trash-talkers started the thread about the game drying up. He posed the question: What do we do to get more people playing the game?

I took him to task about his trash-talking, saying that getting people to play is one thing but it's not a real smart thing to do to belittle and harrass them when they draw out on you a couple of times.

This was his response: "I'm trying to drive away the lucky ones who consitantly draw out. I don't want them at my table. I don't care anybody believes. Luck boxes are real and they are ruining Poker. Oh, and for the record it takes more then "a couple of time" before I get angry."

Not sure I agree with that. There are a lot of players/"regulras" who are very nice, at least at the lower stakes (and I try to be one of them). Don't know how it's at higher stakes, but think it is mostly the same? Some ases who you just ignore.

The guy I quoted frequents the .50/1 and 1/2 limit 5CD tables. There are a couple regulars at the 2/4 through 5/10 tables who get particularly nasty sometimes.

i feel a bit torn on this topic

on the bad side of the equation i abhore anybody destroying someones enjoyment of the game by being a wanker - and there is no doubt that the casual players are less likely to play draw when the regulars behave that way

but

i love playing in a game when there is a poliferation of abuse amongst the players - not just because it makes for a profitable game but also because it really appeals to my competitive streak

fun2draw1 on stars (or "red" to his mates) was personally responsible for the best draw games i have ever played in as a result of his antics when he was a paradise regular

at some level poker is supposed to be a nasty game

Is it bad to mention names on 2+2? Because I would really like to discuss some players in the way they act, nothing poker wise. I just think we are talking a lot about the same people xD

It's confirmed that he's RedSkelt then? He can be bad, but he's clearly a thinking player behind it. Others are much much worse.

I don't have any HHs here, but from memory:

Yes, that's already been confirmed.
