Full casino gambling in Florida by end of year?

It wouldn't surprise me. Giving the state (democrat) governor access to revenue like this? This is like a pill to cure all of their ills, so they think.

No income tax and defer another real estate tax increase. All the politicians can say "see, we didn't raise your taxes"(yet).

How could there not be full casino gambling?

If the legislature wants to allow Class III gaming, Crist won't get in the way. I can't see it happening legislatively since a) we have enough holy rollers in the state to fight against it, and b) Disney et al. will fight like hell to keep as much of FLs entertainment dollars coming their way.

The best bet, as CyberPunk mentioned earlier, is thru the judicial system. If *any* Class III gaming is allowed they have a nice test to see if that instance implies that *all* Class III gaming is allowed. Crist can help make it so if he can negotiate a reasonable cut for the State to help fund his property tax relief efforts.

This has nothing to do with the legislature. If Crist doesn't enter into negotiations on behalf of the state the Seminoles will still get the approval they are looking for, only the Dept. of the Interior gets to benefit while the state would get the shaft. He can't prevent the approval as this has nothing to do with State government but rather a federal agency that oversees all Indian gaming nationwide seeing how all Indian reservations are considered sovereign federal land.
