BR question:
For internet play, what is the recommended BR for SNG's and for NL games. I have heard 40 times the buyin on both of these. Is that true? I am trying not to violate the #1 rule in poker and want to go by the book this time. Thanks.

Re: BR question:
There's really not the maths on NL bankrolls as there is on Limit. Assuming you have an edge on the field, you want 15-20 NL full buyins. As your edge gets smaller, you may want to have more buyins.
I play SNG with 100 buyins, but I'm pretty conservative. You'll hear anything from 30 to 100 as the bankroll for SNG, I'd certainly not want less than 50 odd. Again, the smaller your edge, the larger a bankroll you require. |

Re: BR question:
Further, if you can redeposit, then it's not as important as you might think. If you go bust, just redeposit. Pros have huge BR's because they cannot afford to lose that as they'd likely have no means to redeposit an adequate roll for the respective stakes.

Re: BR question:
There is excellent information in the FAQ's on both 1 table tournament forum (SNGs), and Small Stakes Pot Limit and No Limit forum.
Read both. They are good information by people who have been doing this for a long time. Doc |
