Grave of the Fireflies - I would show this to someone who doesn't think animation can be a serious movie

[/ QUOTE ]

This is one of my favorite movies of any kind.

QFT.

However, it doesn't have any replay value because it's so difficult to watch.

Can anyone link to top 200?

this is the list i go off of. Its pretty good, but it doesn't give enough credit to the newer animes. The way I figure out the good new animes is to determine which animes is being subbed by a lot of different groups, or by groups that have subbed animes i've like in the past (how i started watching Capeta).

Does anyone know the name of the one that takes place in like a cooking school, and they compete by making different kinds of bread? I saw like one episode once but couldn't get the name.

[/ QUOTE ]

its called "Yakitate Japan!" (see my post). seriuosly, one of the funniest/best animes ive ever seen. dont let the haters tell you that a show about making bread is lame.

[/ QUOTE ]
I thought it was good at the beginning, but got ridiculous after a while. I remember one batch of bread was so delicious that it sent the guy back in time. Wtf is that?

[/ QUOTE ]

its suppose to be ridiculous ... its part show about bread (which teaches you some pretty cool things about baking) and part funny satirical (making fun of common and overused themes in anime, as well as long running anime that have become repititive (like conan)). I think just watching it for the bread making is awesome enough ... but yeah it may be more of a personal preference thing. Most of the time, purely "humor" animes won't get good ratings because theres very little emotional attachment, and poor story line. I believe yakitate actually has a really good story for a purely humor based anime.

Also, I just finished watching Ouran (Ohran) High School Host Club and thought the ending was fantastic. Highly recommended (especially if you like shows like Love Hina or Fruits Basket).

I haven't been able to watch this movie a second time. It kills me right from the get go.

I can rewatch it, but maybe every two years at most. It definitely hits crazy hard.

The added material just piles it on worse. Very rough stuff.
