Re: HU 25/50 really interesting spot in big pot
yes nh. i remember once a good player check raised me on the river with a straight flush when i had the A flush - i thought it was a good move at the time, as i would have potted the bare ace, as well as value bet some lower flushes. its definatly a good play here, although i still marginally prefer the small blocker bet given the stack sizes in this situation

possibly king high or queen high flush too [/ QUOTE ] This is almost certainly not true since [ QUOTE ] ..........and then mucked to your check push. [/ QUOTE ] is not true. Villain would probably expect him to push nut flush draw with his something else range on flop. [ QUOTE ] sick hand. [/ QUOTE ] This is true. |

I guess I could maybe see q-high, but k-high? |

[/ QUOTE ] like i said, that is one of my problems........i sometimes see the villan's hand the way "i" might play it. its hard for me to see how other people might think because my self thinking gets in the way. yes, i fold king high in that spot........but then again, i would play the hand differently than villan did if he did in fact make an inferior flush on river. |

Re: HU 25/50 really interesting spot in big pot
Nothing; but if he can come to that conclusion as a player, I'd imagine that he'd check behind on the river because he'll only get called if he's beat anyway. If he's betting that much on the river after all that money has gone in and the OP calling the entire way, I just can't see him letting go of the k-high after a min bet.
I don't play HU nor anywhere near this level. What would make him bet the k-high instead of checking it behind with all this action just to fold the min bet? |

[/ QUOTE ] a king or queen high flush can value bet that river. also, it can fold to a minimum raise because its a lot of money to call still.........i dont care about pot odds here relative to the size of the minimum raise.......and its too obvious we are beat. a minimum check raise bluff would be too sick a play for anyone to pull off in a pot that big. its very obvious that a king high flush would be beat in that spot........so fold. but thats just me. opinions might vary. |
