Wow , thats great. Not only did Castro save Cuban healthcare he also made a Lennon statue!

However, thats pretty horrible evidence if you are insinuating that, that makes lennon a commie...

Lennon was a hippie who had a lot of money. He was very idealistic obviously. Perfect world type crap. Only one problem: We don't, and will never live in a perfect world. He came across as slightly delusional to folks who didn't share his views.

Havent' read the whole thread. But I'll stick up for him...

He doesn't have the greatest range but he's got a really nice quality to his voice. I'm a dude in my thirties and his singing is reminiscint of 80s music which will always have a softspot to me since that was my formative years.

Furthermore... I like what he does. he's not the best singer but he's the best all-around performer. He's creative, he takes chances and he's got some movement.

A lot of fun artists aren't the best singers. I happen to think he picks good songs (311 and the Cure... that speaks to me), pleasant tonal quality...

He sings the same way each week no matter what the song. Those who don't care for him will understand what I mean. I think.

I agree with you - but can't you almost say the same (to a lesser degree) about Melinda?

As opposed to Kiki, who has displayed an AMAZING dynamic range of vocal ability.

Oh wait. I lied.

I think Lakisha is back and she is going to take out Blake and Jordin(I'm not sure in what order) and then face down Melinda in the finals where it will be anyone's game!

Back in the late 70's and early 80's there was a rock movement called "New Wave" and many of the leading male New Wave singers had singing styles quite similar to Blake.

Now the cable music channel that plays New Wave calls itself "Retro-Active" .

In many ways Blake is so old he's new. His voice and his style of music would have fit in just fine on the Top 40 charts of 25 years ago.

Blake may be marketable but his voice is just so marginal.
