Default Seattle Poker Scene...

My girlfriend wants to move to Seattle, and as I just got laid off from my job, I can't really think of a reason not to as I have always wanted to move out West.

It's not a huge factor, but if some one could give me the goods on the Seattle poker scene I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, a little off topic for the this forum, but I heard Washington has some draconian laws against on-line poker. Is this true, can you still play on stars, full tilt in Washington state?

Thanks.

Non-Indian casinos have a max bet of $40, Indian casinos have a max bet of $500.

Lots of spread limit games around town. Lots of $2-$8 spread, $2-$25 spread, $2-$40 spread. Indian casinos have $5-$500 spread limit. Plenty of $3/$6 and $4/$8 also. A couple places have $8/$16. Not much in the way of bigger games, except for the $5-$500 spread limit (which Tulalip casino calls "no limit" LOL) at the Indian casinos.

The penalties for playing online are super harsh. I don't think they really stop anyone since they are effectively unenforceable.

Wait until April to move. It helps to see the summer weather before you have to endure the winter rain.

I still play UB.

My room I play at down the block is called the Macau.

It has a super juicy 5-30 spread limit game that I can honestly say is one of the few poker games I can crush.

(I suck at 3-6 4-8 Limit live cause I chase Montecarlos

But the 5-30 spread game is sweet although you get some ppl who buy in for the min (200) Which means you can get them all in after the flop if they cap it on first two rounds.

Lots of the local rooms have spread limit up to 40 bucks. And The reservation rooms usually have a 5 to 250 game that plays a lot like NL.

I love living a block from my cardroom it's better than donks who drive eons of miles everyday to play cards. Gas is expensive !!!!!!!!!!

There are a TON of threads going into the details of the games in the Seattle area, it's worth doing a search for them. One thing you need to realize is that there aren't any games in Seattle proper. The closest games are situation in Shoreline (north of downtown) and Renton (south of downtown). Both are only about 20 minutes or less from downtown, depending on traffic. If you want the higher spread limit games at the tribal casinos, those are both half hour to 45 minutes away.

There's a 12-24 game in shoreline (just north of seattle) that runs every day, and a steady 20-40 game (often 2 tables) in renton (just south of seattle).

From what I've heard, Muckleshoot (tribal casino about an hour south of city) gets some big limit games if you show up at the right time. 50-100 is pretty steady, and I've heard of 1-2 or even 2-4 games running there.

In general, I'd guess that Seattle is one of the top 10 poker cities in the country.
