Default QQ Vs Shortie

Villain is 49/0/1.34

Just want some feedback on how I played this, was I wrong to bet the turn when the ace came?

I think its fine against a calling station like that.

To a person playing 50% of all hands, the ace is not really a scare card more then any other. I'm more apt to put him on a weak one pair hand or any draw as this player will call with anything.

Valuebet valuebet valuebet and hope the flop didn't hit him in the face.

There is a class of player who is extremely loose preflop but not nearly as loose about calling raises. If that's who this villain is then some form of ace is going to be in his preflop calling range very often -- MANY loose players fall madly in love with aces.

If that's who you've got here, consider check-calling the turn and river: villain is aggro enough that he could bet a weaker hand, especially since he's got position and you're displaying weakness. However, villain is unlikely to put his whole stack in play, even with an ace, so you'll get off more cheaply if you're beaten.

If it had been a king I'd be less worried, but aces are just a death sentence for big pocket pairs against a certain type of opponent. Be aware of that, and try to figure this out BEFORE you double them up.
