A better question: how much would you pay to buy a vote?

[/ QUOTE ]

I'd pay a penny a vote and buy up all the swing states.

My vote is worth very little and would sell it for a few dollars if my vote is being the only one sold in the US. If however, there's a rich source buying tons of votes, I hold out for a much higher price as I don't want them to be able to swing the actual election.

Ooo, I like this topic.
I've though of this before. All votes should be autionable.

If I am 1 of 3 votes determining whether I get the death sentance, my vote value = [MyLife'sValue * (1/3)]

A votes value is thus related to a particular issue to which it counts.

I have to admit, if votes were legal to sell I'd probably be a revolutionary (if I get to assume the 'me' in this hypothetic state have the same cultural outlook as I have).

I don't really understand the question. For a congressman's vote? Senators? Supreme court? Presidential veto?

I don't even know how many electorates there are. I'm also not rich and dislike most candidates. However, if I knew a race were gonna be close and one vote could swing it, 5k. More if I could count on a kickback
