Re: Harrah\'s New Orleans
The casino has been open for a while, if that's what you mean. The touristy areas are fine.

Is it coming back? Anybody know? Is NO worth going back to next spring? [/ QUOTE ] i played in a couple of the preliminary circuit tournaments in may and found the casino's poker room to be as good or better than it was prior to the storm. The action was white hot w/ the waiting lists for most games at least 5 (80 deep for 1/2 NL) players deep. This was when they had a total of about 20 tables going with 4-5 games played at most limits. as for the city, they are still having their issues, but you should be fine if you simply book a hotel downtown and stay in and around the french quarter. I'll be spending a weekend down there in a few weeks playing poker and such, you can PM me after that if you want to know how it is now, but I'd say it would be a good trip next may for the next circuit event. |

Re: Harrah\'s New Orleans
J Henry,
Come on down next spring and spend some money. We still have a lot of work to do, but we would greatly appreciate your business. Honestly, no one knows what the city will be like in 6 months, but hopefully we will have made tremendous progress by then. The hotel at Harrah's will be open by then, so you can stay right next door to the poker room if you like. (Sidenote - I thing the action will significantly increase once Harrah's hotel opens because the casino will be able to cater more to tourists as opposed to locals). PM me a couple of weeks before you go, I will give you the latest info on the city. |

Re: Harrah\'s New Orleans
Any place a tourist would go in the city is fine, and this is based on information from May when I left school. Downtown, French Quarter, and Garden District are all fine. I'm sure it will be even better when I go back in a few weeks. Please come visit and bring friends with you. The people there need tourist money badly.
