4/180 2 hands for sanity check....
Villain in this hand recently moved to table, haven't seen anything out of line from him. Is this standard or should I be keeping the lead on flop and turn?

Re: 4/180 2 hands for sanity check....
Hand 1 I'd either call the initial raise or push PF, you're raise commits you to pushing the flop or getting bet off your hand (like you did.)
Hand 2 is an easy push against an unknown. Only you can say for sure how tight the guy has been playing, but I can't imagine you're behind his range from there considering he has an M under 5. |

Re: 4/180 2 hands for sanity check....
Hand 1: You put in 1/3rd of your stack w/ a hand that misses 2/3rds of the time. Either push PF or call the weak bet. Just because you have AK doesn't mean you always have to raise w/ it.
Hand 2: I think you are way ahead of his range and this is an insta push / call. |

Re: 4/180 2 hands for sanity check....
1) If your stack is larger(say > 20k), raising to 3600 is ok, bu since you are raising such a klarge % of your stack, you are better off just pushing. I believe you want to pot to be short-handed, so by pushing you might scare away some hands that would just call a bet (mid pp's, etc.)
As played, the problem with your big preflop re-raise (without pushing) makes the pot so large basically any bet you make will have to be all-in, so if you want to c-bet this flop you would have to push and villan is only calling if he has you beat and folding if he is behind. Get your chips in preflop! 2) This can be a borderline push depending on his range. If his range is 66+, AJs+, KQs, AQo+, KQo. You are a 44/56 underdog. You need 1.27:1 odds to call. Yu are getting ~ 1.25:1 to call (call via pushing if no one else is in the pot to the flop). However if his range is expanded to 66+,ATs+,KJs+,AJo+,KQo, you are a 48/52 underdog. So psuhign then becomes correct. I think this is more borderline than people think, but I am still pushing my chips in. |

Included in this I think should be 22+, Axs, possibly Kxs. He's really short, in position, I think this is a steal a lot of the time. |

Hand 1 is really misplayed. Push preflop. Given that you didn't you def need to push that flop. I don't see why this is a good spot not to c-bet.
Hand 2 is a push. |

[/ QUOTE ] Thanks for the advice guys, I knew I misplayed Hand 1 badly, and was really kicking myself when they showed down AQ (allin) and KQ. On hand 2 I would say his range was definitely closer to 20% than 30 and no where near 50. He was not a decent player, remember this was a $4. He had already been pretty tight leading up to the bubble, and now that we are on the bubble, I wouldn't be surprised if he was even tighter than that range. So I think it was close, but I did push. |
