World Series of Online Forums Cancelled??

Here is an e-mail I recieved this morning after registering last week for the OFC forum tourney. It states that 2+2 withdrew from the competition for "legal reasons". Anyone have any info as to why? It looked like a pretty good tourney.



Dear OFC Player,


You are receiving this email because you recently pre-registered to play in OFC's World Series of Online Forums. I just been given word, that for legal reasons, Two Plus Two is withdrawing from OFC competition. As a result, your pre-registration has been deleted.


If you wish to play in OFC's World Series of Online Forums, you must pre-register again, and select a different forum to represent. Both Two Plus Two and OFC apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.


Good luck to those of you that pre-register again and play in OFC's World Series of Online Forums.

Risk/reward I would guess. 2+2 has a lot to lose by overstepping the line wrt to promoting/providing gambling and very little to gain by joining in this competition.

Just got a clarifying e-mail from OFC. Here it is.

Dear Player,



I'm sorry to bother you again, but at the request of Two Plus Two Management, I need to clarify the position of the Two Plus Two forums.


Due to possible legal issues that they may have, Two Plus Two at this time is not able to participate in these types of competitions and have never given us permission to suggest in any way that was the case.


When OFC Events open, Players pre-register and simply tell us what forum they wish to represent. OFC does not intend to imply cooperative efforts with any poker forum. If a forum name appears in the list of forums to represent, it is because someone has pre-registered to play for that forum, NOT because OFC has received permission from the forum.


We are sorry for any misunderstanding, and wish you all the very best.
